Navjot Sidhu's nephew figured in second list of Congress candidates for Punjab assembly elections

CHANDIGARH: Sumit Singh nephew of Punjab Congress president Navjot Sidhu has figured in the second list of Congress party candidates for Punjab assembly elections of 2022. He will contest from Amargarh in Malerkotla district. He has replaced sitting MLA Surjit Dhiman.

The Congress party has released second list of 23 candidates. The Congress has refused ticket to former minister Jagmohan Singh Kang from Kharar and fielded Vijay Sharma Tinku, a liquor contractor of Morinda. Dipinder Singh Dhillon who lost in last assembly elections has been fielded from Dera Bassi. Former Bureacrat Darbara Singh has been given ticket from Shutrana reserve seat. 

Ashwani Sekhri has managed to get ticket from Batala despite opposition by minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa. Bajwa wanted to contest from Batala. Bikram Singh Mofar son of former MLA Ajit Singh Mofar has got ticekt from Sardulgarh seat.

Karan Kaur Brar daughter in law of former Chief Minister Harcharan Singh Brar has been fielded from Muktsar Sahib. Raja Gill has been given ticket from Samrala in place of Amrik Singh Dhillon. Ashu Bangar AAP leader who joined Congress has been fielded from Ferozepur rural reserve seat. Joginder Pal has retained his Bhoa seat and Kuldip Singh Vaid sitting MLA from Gill has also been given party ticket.

Satwinder Bitti, Satkar Kaur and Daman Bajwa have been denied party tickets. Satkar Kaur is sitting MLA from Ferozepur rural. Amrik Singh Dhillon sitting MLA from Samrala has been denied ticket. He has been replaced by Raja Gill.
