NAKODAR:The Mehat Pur police have arrested a villager on the charge of selling country made illegal liquor. The investigating officer Bhajan Singh said that 100 bottles of illegal country made liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Jasvir Singh a resident of Dharme Din Chhana village.
A case under section 61/1/14 of the Excise Act has been registered against the accused and impounded a motor cycle (PB-22-C-2532) on which he was travelling.
In an other case, The Nurmahal police arrested Tara Singh a resident of Pandori Jagir village with 8 bottles of hooch.
The Bilga police booked unidentified persons for brewing illicit liquor and recovered 26800 kilograms Lahann (raw liquor) and utensils for storing it said investigating officer Jaswindar Singh.
