SHAHKOT: The Shahkot police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of its six members. 3 motorcycles, sharp-edged weapons, and cash were recovered from their possession.
S.P. Investigation Manpreet Dhillon said the police has received a piece of information that the accused were planning a robbery and were intercepted at a Naka riding motorcycles who have been identified as Javed , Rajvir Rohit Raj Kumar Gurprit Singh alias Gopi residents of Said Pur Jhirri village Karamjit Singh alias Bablu and Dharmindar Singh residents of Meinwal Maulviyan village and Gurjant Singh son of a resident of Sohal Khurd village under Nakodar city police station.
SHO said that the accused are habitual robbers and have committed many crimes in the last few weeks.
A case under section 399((making preparation to commit dacoity.) .402(assembling for purpose of committing dacoity.) of the IPC been registered against the accused and three motorcycles 4 mobile handsets 6 sharp-edged weapons and Rs 2500 were recovered from their possession and further investigation is on.
