CHANDIGARH: Shreya Garg, the tri-city topper in the CBSE Class 12 Commerce stream, met Governor of Haryana, Bandaru Dattatraya, along with her family at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. The Governor honored Shreya by presenting her with an idol of Lord Krishna and a copy of the Yatharth Geeta. He extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Shreya and her family on her remarkable achievement.
During the meeting, Shreya informed the Governor that she had secured 99.4 per cent in the Commerce stream. She shared that her disciplined approach and focused studies were key factors behind her success. Shreya expressed her aspiration to become an IAS officer through continued hard work. Her grandfather, Satbir Garg, proudly mentioned that Shreya had previously topped the CBSE Class 10 board exams as well, scoring an impressive 99.2 per cent.
Praising Shreya, Governor Shri Dattatraya said that her success would serve as an inspiration to other students and motivate them to pursue their goals with determination. He highlighted that daughters today were achieving success across all fields and commended the positive impact of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which began from Haryana and yielding encouraging results nationwide. The Governor emphasized the important role played by Shreya’s teachers and parents in her success. Their dedication and support have been instrumental in her accomplishments. He stated that such devoted educators and parents also deserve commendation.
Present during the meeting were Shreya’s mother, Mrs Renu Garg; grandfather, Mr Satbir Garg; uncle, Mr Devaraj Garg; and Mr Raj Mittal.
