Punjab Governor & Administrator UT Chandigarh Gulab Chand Kataria Inaugurates Medical Check-up and Blood Donation Camp at Raj Bhavan

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh, September 5: Punjab Governor and UT Chandigarh Administrator Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria today inaugurated a Health Check-up and Blood Donation Camp at the Shri Guru Nanak Dev Auditorium, Punjab Raj Bhavan. The camp was organized by the Raj Bhavan Employees’ Cultural & Sports Association in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, GMSH-16, Grewal Eye Hospital, WCCWF Charitable Hospital, and Red Cross Punjab.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kataria underlined the importance of preventive healthcare and community service. He said that “regular health check-ups help in early detection of diseases and voluntary blood donation is among the noblest contributions one can make to society.” He appreciated the efforts of the Association and partner institutions in creating awareness and ensuring medical access for employees and their families.

The camp witnessed active participation across multiple specialties: General Medicine (60 patients), Neurology (40), Cardiology (35), Orthopedics (45), Physiotherapy (35), BP/Sugar/ECG testing (175), Eye check-ups (125), Dental check-ups (65), Acupressure therapy (57), along with 35 voluntary blood donors.

Senior officials including Sh. Vivek Pratap Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor; Sh. Shivdullar Singh Dhillon, Secretary, Red Cross Punjab; and Dr. Suman Singh, Director Health Services, UT Chandigarh were also present on the occasion.

The initiative was coordinated under the leadership of Sh. Bhim Sain Garg (President), Sh. Kehar Singh (Vice President), and Sh. Kamaljeet Singh (General Secretary) with the active involvement of association members.

The Governor reiterated that Raj Bhavan will continue to support such efforts to promote health awareness and social responsibility among its employees and the wider community.
