World Radiology Day celebrated at RBU

MOHALI: The Department of Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology, Rayat Bahra University School of Physiotherapy & Radiology, organised the 6th Continuing Medical Education (CME) on the occasion of World Radiology Day 2025 under the theme “Empowering Radiology through AI-Driven Imaging Excellence.”

The event aimed to highlight the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence in modern Radiology, emphasising enhanced diagnostic precision, workflow efficiency, and improved healthcare outcomes. 

The program was organised under the guidance of Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Group Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar, whose leadership continues to inspire innovation and excellence in medical education and research.

The CME was conducted in collaboration with ClearMedi Bahra Multispeciality Hospital and the Indian Society of Radiological Technologists (ISRT) Punjab Chapter. 

Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Kumar Gupta, Dean of USPR, served as the Organising Chairperson, overseeing the meticulous planning and execution of the program.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Vinod Kumar Dangwal, Chairperson, Punjab State Allied and Healthcare Council (PSAHC), Punjab, and Associate Professor, Department of Medical Physics, Government Medical College, Patiala.

The University fraternity was privileged to host several distinguished guests, including Randhir Singh Doad, Regional Coordinator (North West), ISRT Punjab Chapter; Joy Anzer Hamid, President, ISRT Punjab Chapter; Narender Sharma, Secretary, ISRT Punjab Chapter and Prem Kumar Fanan; Senior Vice-President ISRT Chandigarh Chapter.

The academic sessions featured expert talks by Dr. Vipin Suchak, Senior Consultant - Radiology, ClearMedi Bahra Multispeciality Hospital, Mohali; Manjinder Kaur Dhanoa, Sr. Vice-President, ISRT Punjab Chapter; Mohit Sharma, M.Sc. MRIT; and Akram, B.Sc. MRIT, University School of Physiotherapy & Radiology, RBU.

Their deliberations emphasized the evolving role of AI in enhancing image interpretation, reducing diagnostic errors, and integrating technology with clinical expertise. 

Over 270 participants, including faculty, technologists, researchers, and students from various institutions, actively participated in the CME.
