Vet Varsity NSS Unit hold Sessions on Mental health

LUDHIANA: National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organised a series of sessions on ‘Miracle of Mind’. One session was on Meditation for youth and another on Stress Management. It was planned on the guidelines of the University Grants Commission to address students’ mental health, welfare, psychological and emotional well-being.

The Meditation Session was conducted by Ms. Mona Lal, Instructor, Sadhguru’s Inner Engineering, to enhance focus, concentration and overall well-being. NSS volunteers and other students learned to calm their minds, reduce stress and improve productivity. She was accompanied by a team of Instructors to personally guide students for meditation.

Dr. Nidhi Sharma, NSS Programme Coordinator conveyed that regular meditation practice encouraged to develop a positive mindset, better memory retention and emotional stability, leading to improved academic performance and personal growth.

Second session was taken by Mr. Vidur Thakur. He gave a presentation on varied subjects related to stress management. Students from College of Veterinary science , College of fisheries and College of animal biotechnology attended the sessions.

Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Director Students’ Welfare , said that such sessions on Mental health are crucial for overall well-being as well as our ability to cope with life's challenges.

Dr. SS Hassan, NSS Program Officer of College of Fisheries actively participated to maintain discipline while learning meditation.
