Two-Day Long 9th National Sochni Conference on Global Health Challenges at KCN

AMRITSAR: The two-day long national Socni Conference on Global Health Challenges today began at Khalsa College of Nursing (KCN) in which the experts delegates from all over the country held deliberations on rising threats of medical emergencies. They said that the Covid epidemic has shown how the health services might be under stress and how nursing services needed to be strengthened further to face the new challenges.

The Society of Community Health Nurses of India (Sochni), a national body of health experts organized the Conference in collaboration with KCN to discuss the trends in disease control, challenges of trauma including accidents and disasters, health safety and role of nursing in community health. Chief Guest at the occasion Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina emphasized on strengthening of health infrastructure.

He said Covid has given tough lessons and we must be aware how such more challenges might emerge in the coming days. Sochni President Dr. Chellarani Vijay Kumar stressed on emerging issues of disease control and health. “The identification and management of emergencies and infections, protection of community from communicable diseases,
drugs resistance and large scale immunization are the upcoming challenges”, said Dr. Kumar.

Dr. Sushma K Saini, Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. Shandrila Immanuel, Dr. Samta Soni, Dr. Hardeep Kaur, Dr. Achla spoke in detail. KCN Principal Dr. Amanpreet Kaur earlier welcomed the 500 delegates from various states of the country and spoke about the aims and objectives of the conference. Dr. Kumar said that Sochni was established with the objective of bringing experts on one platform to discuss health issues. Dr. Kumar and other dignitaries were honoured by the organizers.
