School Kinds Visit KCVAS

AMRITSAR: A group of 50 school students from Government Senior Secondary School, Sabuana (Fazilka) visited Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS), Amritsar today. The students, accompanied by their teachers, had a day-long tour of the college, its various departments and the attached farms and Veterinary hospital said Dr. HK Verma, Principal, KCVAS.

The visit included a tour of the various departments of the college such as the Veterinary Medicine, Parasitology, Pathology, Anatomy, Physiology, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Surgery, Livestock Farm Complex and Veterinary Hospital (24X7). The students were also able to explore the farms rearing cattle, Goats, Sheep, Poultry, Pigs and Horses attached to the college, where they observed how livestock were being cared for and managed.

The students also had a question and answer session and were provided them with valuable insights into the various facets of the veterinary and animal sciences. Students got awareness regarding bacteria, viruses and especially rabies. They also got awareness regarding dairy and meat products. The students were amazed to learn about the various teaching, basic research and development efforts undertaken by the college and the students were also encouraged to pursue their dreams of becoming veterinarians.

The students were ecstatic at the end of the visit and thanked the college’s Principal for providing them with this wonderful opportunity. The school’s teachers were also impressed by the college’s facilities and the enthusiasm of the students and few were serious to join Animal Science College.
