Punjab School Education Department conducts Teachers' training on business blasters programme

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab School Education Department conducted a comprehensive two-day teachers' training program on the Business Blasters program. Approximately 7, 000 teachers from 2, 000 schools across 23 districts of the state participated in this special program.

The training program covered various aspects, including problem-solving, teamwork, negotiation, innovation, and other entrepreneurial skills. Additionally, special sessions focused on motivation, teamwork, and real-world situations. The training segments included orientation, curriculum exposure, role-play, and clarifying roles and responsibilities. The active participation of teachers fostered an atmosphere of enthusiasm and excitement throughout the program.

The spokesperson said that the Business Blasters is a flagship program under the 'Punjab Young Entrepreneurs Program Scheme, ' aimed at instilling entrepreneurial mindsets among 11th-grade students in 2, 000 Government Senior Secondary Schools across Punjab. This program equips students with 21st-century skills to meet the challenges of a constantly evolving world. It encourages experiential learning to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, empowering students to develop viable business or social ideas and essential qualities like identifying opportunities, taking calculated risks, collaboration, and resilience.

By nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets and modern skills, the young generation in Punjab will be better prepared to tackle challenges such as unemployment, drug addiction and migration as Business Blasters program will not only give them vision and purpose for their lives but also make them aware of their own hidden strengths and show them the path to success and glory, the spokesperson said.

In the initial stage, Business Blasters program was launched as a pilot project in November 2022 in 32 government senior secondary schools of 9 districts of state. 11, 000 students of 11th standard from participated and over 3000 of them received the seed money of rupees 2000 per student to try their business ideas in the real-world situation. Based on the success of the pilot program, the state government has decided to launch a full-fledged program for all government school students of 11th standard.
