Guru Nanak Dev University to organize National Seminar under the flagship of G-20

AMRITSAR: Under the flagship of G-20 presidency and visionary guidance of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu of Guru Nanak Dev University, the department Electronics Technology in collaboration with Commission for Scientific & Technical Terminology (CSTT), Department of Education, Government of India is organizing a 2-Day National Seminar on “Implementation of National Education Policy (NEP-2020) in Technical Education & Technical Terminology in Punjabi”on10th-11th March, 2023.

Dr. Ravinder Kumar, Head of Department and Coordinator of this event said that, it is a matter of great pridefor all of us that CSTT, Department of Education; Government of Indiachose our university in the northern region for conducting this 2-days national level event. The commission plays an important role in creating the diversified terminologies in regional languages for scientific and technical terms. The university experts have already completed one project of creating an elaborated technical terminology in Punjabi language for CSTT.He further confirmed thatthe resource persons from reputed institutes besides more than 100 delegates from different technical universities and colleges of India will participate in this two day event. This event will be organized in the auditorium of SriGuru Granth Sahib Bhawan.

The Vice Chancellor (GNDUniversity), Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Chairman (CSTT), Prof. GirishNathJha will preside over during the inaugural function of this seminar on 10th March morning. Prof. Ravinder Singh Sawhney, Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology and Convener of this event said thatas we all are aware, The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a milestone document in the context of nation-building, which is expected to overhaul the entire academic system in the country from pre-primary to tertiary level.In the context of NEP-2020, the role of regional languages in the proliferation of Science & Technology will be highlighted with references. He said that by organizing the event, we want to provoke discussion about the National Education Policy-2020 and raise awareness among the teachers.

The state government will start providing sand from 100 commercial sites at the rate of Rs 5.50 per feet to the common people. Now people are getting sand from 32 public sites through tractor-trolley at Rs 5.50 per feet. It is also a target to increase the number of public sites to 150. The Chief Minister inaugurated the public site at Mao Sahib, and from there 200 trolleys are being filled daily. Due to this the labourers also earn well in a day. With this decision in Punjab, the labourer would get reasonable remuneration with the decision of manual excavation.

Meet Hayer said that there is a rule of law in Punjab and the opposition parties are maligning the name of Punjab, while Punjab ranks 17th in terms of crime rate. Presenting the data of the national criminal record, he said that the crime rate is very high in the states like Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Meet Hayer said that the Congress MLAs sitting in the opposition do not leave a single opportunity to defame Punjab without any reason and facts, but their own party enforced President rule in Punjab for eight times, Sikh massacre in Delhi and black days in Punjab. Gangster culture in Punjab is a gift given by the previous governments.
