GNDU Golden Jubilee Convention Center is glory of Amritsar: Aman Arora

AMRITSAR: The Minister of Information & Public Relations New and Renewable Energy Sources Housing and Urban Development of Punjab Mr. Aman Arora and Minister for Power and PWD, Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO visited the international level Golden Jubilee Convention Center of Guru Nanak Dev University and said that because of this centre, various eminent organizations are now giving priority to hold national and international level events in Amritsar, which will give more strength to the development of Amritsar as well as Punjab.

Earlier, Prof. S.S. Behl, Dean Academic Affairs and Prof. K.S. Kahlon, Registrar warmly welcomed Mr. Aman Arora and Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO on reaching the campus. Newly appointed Director of Hospitality & Events, Dr. Tejwant Singh Kang gave details regarding facilities under this convention centre. He said that the Golden Jubilee Convention Center has halls having different capacities which are built on the basis of modern requirements and international standards.

Arora said that top second ranking University CGPA of 3.85 out of 4 at A++ Grade of Guru Nanak Dev University by National Assessment and Accreditation Council is a wonderful achievement of the Guru Nanak Dev University not only at national but at international level also due to the intellectual decisions of Vice Chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh and able leadership of the team. Winning of Maulana Abul Kalam Azaad Trophy (MAKA) for the record 24 times and other top rankings by various agencies were the another glorious achievements. He said that Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann's government is working sincerely and diligently to understand the needs of Amritsar and to remove the obstacles in the development of Amritsar, which will yield good results. Appreciating the role being played by Guru Nanak Dev University for this purpose, he said that the program of G-20 is also being planned here. He also praised the greenery and cleanliness of Guru Nanak Dev University and congratulated the entire university community and the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sandhu.

He said that because of the religious and historical importance of Amritsar, people from all over the world come here. More than one lakh people visit daily. Amritsar still needs a lot of development for which we all need to work together. He said that we have big plans for this city and soon by starting implementation of them, Amritsar will be made the best city in the country.
