October 12, 2019 02:05 PM

MOHALI: Management Club, University School of Management (USMS) at the Rayat Bahra University organized a panel discussion on “What the Insurance Sector has to offer to Millennials”.

OP Sukhija, AS Kohli, Rohit Suri, Ankush Kumar and Shivam Lamba, from Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) approved insurance companies, were the panelists.

They explained  how there have been certain changes in insurance era from time to time, and it included certain initiatives that have taken place in the insurance sector and what this changing landscape of insurance has to offer to the adults of the 21st century.

The panelists said as the largest generation in today’s workforce, millennials have had a major impact on organizations across all industries. Within the next decade, they will make up about half of all leadership positions, making it more important than ever for companies to begin thinking about how to strengthen their succession pipelines by developing and retaining high-potential leadership candidates.

It is not all smooth sailing for insurance companies. Getting millennials to stay in insurance requires a finely-tuned strategy that realizes the skills they have to offer and lifts the lid on the opportunities that exist in the industry for those who put in the time.

The students and faculty members of the University School of Management listened to the panelists with rapt attention as they dwelt on the key role that the millennials would have in the insurance sector in the times to come.
