CBSE asks failed students of Class IX and XI ask to appear in school-based test

CHANDIGARH: School children are the most sufferer due to COVID 19 as it is an unprecedented situation for them. For the past two months they are confined to home and they have not seen the face of their schools and their teachers. It causes a lot of mental stress and anxiety to them.

After passing through strenuous exercise while going through constantly queries and requests from the parents, the Central Board of School Education has issued a notification No CBSE/CE/2020 dated May 13, 2020 issued by the Controller of Examinations, CBSE, New Delhi,   has decided that all students those have failed in Classes IXth and XI will be provided an opportunity to appear in school-based test again.

The notification further states that this opportunity will be extended to students irrespective whether their examinations have been completed and the results have been announced or their examinations have not been completed. It is also extended to irrespective of number of subjects and attempts. The schools can conduct Online/Offline/innovative tests and may decide promotion on the basis of this test. The test can be given in all subjects in which student has failed. Before holding the test, the schools will give sufficient time to the students to prepare themselves for the test.    

The notification has also reiterated that this one time opportunity is being given only for this current year in view of the unprecedented conditions and will not extend.

The notification also appeals to all of us to make joint efforts to relieve the students from stress and mitigate their anxiety. This one-time opportunity is being extended only in current year in view of the unprecedented conditions of Covid-19.
