INDIANAPOLIS: Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett proclaimed September 9th 2023 as the HTCI TempleFest Day, a recognition that highlights the importance of the Hindu community and the cultural richness Hindu Temple of Central Indiana bring to the city of Indianapolis and to this region.

On this occasion Chairman – Board of Trustees Krishnakumar Padmanabhan extended deep appreciation to all the volunteers for their unwavering support and the flawless execution of TempleFest Day. "It was truly a day to remember as we came together to celebrate Indian culture and cuisine."

Disclosing the upcoming festive season at the temple Krishnakumar Padmanabhan said "We have a series of celebrations planned, including Ganesh Chaturthi, the Grand Garba and Ravan Dahan during Navratri, Diwali, and our Annual Gala Dinner. The two-day Grand Garba event (Oct 20 and 21) is particularly special as it will feature renowned singers from Gujarat at an outside Sportzone facility, and we expect to welcome more than 1000 people to this grand celebration."

To meet the increasing needs of the community, the Board and Executive Committee are actively working on bringing additional staff on board. As a significant first step, to maintain diversity in our offerings, the HR Team is diligently working on adding another Patchaka (temple cook) and priest from the northern region. We also recently purchased a Roti-making machine to help with kitchen operations.

Padmanabhan said " With our community's needs continually growing, the Long-Range Planning Committee is actively developing plans for temple expansion. Larger dining space and kitchen, additional private pooja areas and enhanced storage facilities are few things that are in consideration for the expansion. We will come out with solid plans before our fund-raising event. We are excited about this future endeavor and look forward to your continued support.

"Lastly, I want to express our deepest gratitude to our community for contributing to the Sahasrapatra Sarana Vriksham. With your generous contributions, we have successfully paid off $300, 000 towards principal over the past year. This achievement is a testament to our collective commitment to the growth and prosperity of our temple."
