West Indies beat Ireland by 24 runs in first ODI

KINGSTON (JAMAICA): West Indies beat Ireland by 24 runs in the first One-Day International against Ireland here today.
Batting first, West Indies posted an impressive total of 269 in 485 overs. The highlight of their innings was a solid 155-run partnership for the fifth wicket stand between Sharmarh Brooks (93, 89b, 9x4s, 3x6s) and Kieron Pollard (69, 66b, 4x4s, 4x6s). They carried their total to 217 for 5 from 4-62.
In reply Ireland mustered 249 all out in 49.1 overs.. After the fall of their first wicket at one Andrew Balbirnie (71) and Harry Tector ( 53) were associated for 103 runs partnership for second wickets, Andy McBrine retired not out 34,
