Ramkumar marches into quarters in Switzerland

CHANDIGARH: Indian Ramkumar posted an impressive straight sets 6-2, 6-3 victory over Mats Moraing of Germany and moved into the quarter-final of the € 44, 820 ATP Challenger FlowBank Challenger Biel in Switzerland. The match lasted over one hour.
Ramkumar , ranked 192, is now pitted against fifth seed and 139th ranked Liam Broady of Great Britain for a berth in the semi-final.
With his booming serve, Ramkumar dominated the pre-quarter-final match. He fired as many as 14 aces and committed two double faults, Mats served one ace and committed four double faults.
The Indian player saved three out of three breakpoints and converted three out of six. Mata saved three out of six breakpoints and could not convert any of the three breakpoints.
PRAJNESH BOWS OUT: Mikael Torpegaard of Denmark ousted Prajnesh Gunneswaran of Indian in straight sets 6-1 6-4 in 64 minutes in pre-quarter-final of the $52, 080 Tennis Ohio Championship in Columbus, USA.
SHARAN LOSES: Indian Divij Sharan, pairing Jonny O'Mara of Great Britain were ousted by alternates Hunter Reese of USA and Sem Verbeek of Netherlands in the doubles first round outing in the ATP 250 € 419, 470 Moselle Open in Metz, France. Reese-Verbeek won 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.
