AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has strongly condemned the incident of the removal of the turban of Amritdhari Gursikh farmer leader Harbhagwan Singh Sidhupur, who was trying to get the compromise of the two parties in the matter related to the construction of a dispensary in Gurdwara Sahib at village Lalbai, Tehsil Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib.
Advocate Dhami said that making a ruckus with anyone inside the Guru Ghar and especially trying to remove the turban of an Amritdhari Gursikh is a highly condemnable act and hurts the Sikh sentiments.
He said that the turban is the identity of a Sikh, which is the duty of every Sikh to respect.
He said that the Guru Ghar is a center of respect, service and brotherhood for everyone. Therefore, such a ruckus in the complex of the Gurdwara Sahib cannot be justified at any cost.
He said that the administration should ensure strict action against those who desecrate the turban, so that no one dares to play with Sikh sentiments.
