RCED–SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation Inaugurate Skill Development Program in Karnal

KARNAL: RCED, on behalf of SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation, is implementing a Skill Development Training Program in Karnal, Haryana, aimed at empowering local youth through vocational training. The program is being conducted in the trade of Multi Skill Technician and is designed to train a total of 60 candidates.

The first batch, comprising 20 candidates, has been successfully completed the course. Following the completion of training, 13 candidates have already been placed in suitable employment, while the placement process for the remaining seven candidates is currently underway and is expected to be completed soon.

The inauguration of the second and third batches of the program was held on Tuesday, with the participation of approximately 45 candidates. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Paramjit Singh, Director, RCED; Ms. Ritu Girdhar, Deputy Manager (PDI), SIDBI; Mr. Vijay Arora, General Manager, RCED and Mr. Satvinder Singh, Program Coordinator.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted the pivotal role of skill development in improving employability and promoting self-reliance among youth. They applauded the collaborative efforts of RCED and SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation in generating sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthening the region’s socio-economic fabric.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Paramjit Singh, Director, RCED, emphasized that skill development initiatives are essential for bridging the gap between education and employment, thereby enabling young people to become self-reliant. Ms. Ritu Girdhar commended RCED for the effective implementation of the program and reaffirmed SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting initiatives that foster sustainable livelihoods.

The program underscores the shared commitment of RCED and SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation to empowering youth through quality skill training and contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the region.
