Victim appeals Punjabis not to visit Himachal due to hatred against Punjabis
AMRITSAR: A Punjabi NRI who went to visit Himachal Pradesh with his Spanish wife was beaten up by locals at Khajihar in Himachal Pradesh in reaction to Kangna Ranaut slapgate. Punjabi brother of NRI was also thrashed.
The victim NRI Kanwaljit Singh has alleged he was targeted being Punjabi and also appealed to Punjabis not to visit Himachal. He alleged that even police is biased and supporting the locals. He said that about 100 people attacked them and they were saved by a policeman even as no FIR was registered. He claimed nothing provocative was doe by them.
It is recalled that a CISF constable Kamaljit Kaur had slapped Kangna Ranaut at Chandigarh airport in protest against her statements against farmers of Punjab.
Gurjit Aujla Congress MP from Amritsar who met the victim couple and said that he was trying to contact Himachal CM to take action and register FIR in the case. He said that registration of FIR was first duty of police. He also urged Kangna Ranual now a MP to come forward and ensure action against the miscreants.
Victim with fracture on his arm is now under treatment in the Amritsar hospital.
