KURUKSHETRA: Jathedar Jagdish Singh Jhinda has been elected as the head of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee with a majority vote. 48 members participated in the Haryana Committee elections held at the historic Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevi under the supervision of Protem Chairman Joga Singh, while Bibi Jasbir Kaur Masana did not participate in the election process.
First, Haryana Committee member Major Singh announced the name of Jagdish Singh Jhinda for the post of head. After which the sound of chants of Bole So Nihal Sat Sri Akal echoed in the Diwan Hall. When Protem Chairman Joga Singh talked about announcing someone else's name for the post of president, Harmanpreet Singh, a member from Thanesar, announced the name of Parkash Singh Sahuwal for the post of president. But 30 members including co-opted member of the Haryana Committee Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal raised their hands in support of Jathedar Jagdish Singh Jhinda and expressed their unanimous decision.
After this, the newly elected head of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Jathedar Jagdish Singh Jhinda announced an 11-member executive committee.
He elected Gurmeet Singh Mita as senior vice president, Gurbir Singh as vice president, Angrez Singh as general secretary, Balwinder Singh as joint secretary. While Karnail Singh Nimanabad, Palwinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh Multani, Rupinder Singh Panjokhra Sahib, Jagtar Singh Mann and Tajinderpal Singh Narnaul were elected as executive members.
As soon as the names of these office bearers and members of the executive committee were announced, the 30 members present in the Diwan Hall expressed their happiness with the echo of Bole So Nihal Sat Sri Akal.
After the election process, President Jagdish Singh Jhinda addressed the gathering and members and shared some moments of the story of the struggle of the Haryana Committee.
He told how the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal created obstacles in the existence of the Haryana Committee. But he expressed happiness that after a long struggle, the Haryana Committee has now fully come into existence.

Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal, co-opted member of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and chairman of Dharam Prachar, congratulated Jagdish Singh Jhinda on becoming the President.
He said that the first election of the Haryana Committee has been completed and it is a happy and golden moment that President Jagdish Singh Jhinda, who had been raising his voice for a long time and fighting for a separate Gurdwara Management Committee of the state, has become its President. President Jathedar Jagdish Singh Jhinda thanked all the members including Jathedar Daduwal Jhinda said, "I will perform my duty with complete honesty and dedication."
He said that after a long struggle, the Haryana Committee came into existence and now after the first election, he has been elected as the President with a majority.
He will serve the Guru Ghar with full devotion. After becoming the President, President Jathedar Jagdish Singh Jhinda reached the head office of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. Here he was welcomed by some members and their supporters. After offering a bouquet of flowers and sweets to Jagdish Singh Jhinda, he was seated on the President's chair. After this, Haryana Committee Chief Secretary Jaswinder Singh Dinpur, Dharam Prachar Secretary Sarabjit Singh Jammu, Additional Secretary Rajpal Singh Duniya Majra, Satpal Singh Dachar, Deputy Secretary Amrinder Singh and Rupinder Singh also welcomed the President.
