Accused committing fraud of Rs. 60.50 lakhs through fake stock trading advertisement on Facebook arrested.

KAITHAL: Cyber Crime Police has succeeded in arresting an accused while taking action in a case of fraud of lakhs of rupees by showing fake stock trading advertisement on Facebook.

Giving information, police spokesperson said that as per the complaint of Guhla resident Iqbal Singh, he clicked on an advertisement related to stock market on Facebook, after which a website in the name of Axis Direct opened. He shared his documents and personal information on the website, after which a fake trading wallet was created.

The accused contacted through WhatsApp and lured them with 8 percent profit and explained the process of investment by calling themselves representatives of a trading company. The accused took the complainant into confidence by sending him a fake SEBI certificate and got the money transferred to different bank accounts. A total of about Rs 60 .50 lakh were transferred by the complainant from Axis and PNB bank accounts on various dates in the month of July 2025 to the accounts mentioned by the accused. The amount continued to be visible in the wallet, but later the fraud was discovered. Regarding which a case was registered in the cyber crime police station.

While investigating the case, the accused Anshul Thakul, resident of Bhagwan Nagar, Ludhiana Punjab, was arrested by the team of ASI Naresh Kumar under the leadership of cyber crime station in-charge PSI Shubhranshu. Another accused has already been arrested in the said case. In the said case, accused Anshul had provided bank accounts to cyber thugs for defrauding money. The accused was sent to judicial custody as per the court order.
