PHAGWARA: A shocking incident has come to light from the nearby village of Mauli, where a 29-year-old woman, Sushma, died after being allegedly pushed by her husband during a domestic quarrel.
According to village sarpanch Amandeep Singh, he received a phone call late last night informing him about the incident. On reaching the spot, he found Sushma lying dead and immediately alerted the police.
Police officials, led by ASI Sukhwinder Singh of Satnampura Police Station, inspected the site and began investigations. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Sushma and her husband, Ram Lagan, had frequent quarrels. The accused reportedly stopped his wife from working, harbored unfounded suspicions about her, and was himself unemployed and mentally disturbed.
During the argument last night, he allegedly pushed Sushma, causing her to fall and hit her head on the floor, leading to fatal injuries.
The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for postmortem and later handed over to the family after examination. Police have registered a case against Ram Lagan in connection with the incident.
