Upcoming Vidhan Sabha Session Will Address Key Issues Related to Disaster Management Funds: Harpal Singh Cheema

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema today flagged off three ambulances from Mohali to provide medical services to the people of flood-affected areas. 

He highlighted that free medical check-up will be done and medicines will be provided for the next 45 days and in serious cases, patients will be referred to nearby health care facilities for further treatment. 

The Finance Minister assured that the Punjab Government will go extra mile and take every possible step to support the flood-affected persons with a vision of making Punjab stronger and more prosperous. 

Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today visited and reviewed relief work in Fazilka district and said that our Government has set the target to bring the life on track in flood affected areas within 45 days. We are highly vigilant so that no serious disease could outbreak. He also held a meeting with the non-governmental organizations of the district and praised them for their role played in public service during the flood crisis. 

Dr. Balbir Singh shared information about Mission Chardi Kala and said that our Punjabis are always known for helping others. He said that donations can be given by visiting the website rangla.punjab.gov.in. He added that the Punjab Government will spend this amount on flood relief work. He also appealed to the NGOs to adopt one village to uplift the mental and social level of the people.
