AMRITSAR: In line with the announcement made to organize, streamline, and effectively coordinate relief services for flood-affected people in Punjab, Sri Akal Takht Sahib’s Acting Jathedar, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, today officially launched the sarkarekhalsa.org website from the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
He appealed to all organizations, institutions, groups, and individuals engaged in service and relief work in Punjab to register their services on the platform so that assistance to flood affected people can be provided in a systematic manner. He emphasized that the Khalsa Panth, guided by the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, always works for the welfare of all (Sarbat da Bhala), extending help to those affected by natural disasters or other hardships without any discrimination.
Jathedar Gargajj said that the recent floods in Punjab caused massive loss of life and property. Many Sikh individuals and institutions approached Sri Akal Takht Sahib with the concern that while relief services were being carried out, coordination and transparency were lacking, making it essential to ensure that dasvandh (community contribution) is used effectively and aid reaches the needy. On September 13, a meeting was convened by Sri Akal Takht Sahib with all organisations and personalities doing Sewa (voluntary service) of relief work, during which valuable suggestions were received. Based on these, the decision to launch the website was taken.
He explained that the Sarkar-e-Khalsa website is an initiative of the Khalsa Panth under the divine auspices of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. It is an effort to embody the principle that the Guru’s treasury is meant to serve the needy properly and meaningfully implementing the concept of Dasvandh, by organizing and coordinating various institutions engaged in relief Sewa and utilizing it for essential services needed for the future of the Panth and humanity. This initiative has been envisioned under the shelter and guidance of Guru Sahib, he said.
The Jathedar said that initially, the platform will provide six types of services field levelling; repair, construction of houses, livestock, medical, education and other.
The Jathedar added that many organizations have already welcomed the initiative, and it is expected that this coordinated effort will bring effective relief and rehabilitation for flood victims.
He further stated that any Punjab resident, regardless of their faith or religion, may register on the website either to seek help or to offer their services. Once registered, the information will be verified by designated volunteers of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and upon verification, tasks will be assigned to concerned organisations offering the required Sewa. Individuals willing to serve as volunteers can also register on the platform.
The website also provides WhatsApp (+91 8083080840) chat connectivity, along with detailed guidelines on how the platform functions. Each registered jathebandi, organization, individual, or business will receive a separate login ID and password to access the portal, report incidents or needs, track services rendered, and update status. Similarly, families or individuals requiring assistance will also be able to use this facility.
