SGPC Foundation Day celebrated at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall

AMRITSAR: The foundation day of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee was celebrated at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall within the Sri Darbar Sahib complex.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, while congratulating the devotees on the foundation day of the Shiromani Committee, said that the Sikhs fought a long struggle for the establishment of this prestigious institution of the Sikh community.

He said that the history of this Sikh institution, which came into existence with the sacrifices made by many Sikhs, is glorious. During its one century journey, the Shiromani Committee, while taking responsibility for the better management of the Gurdwaras, has also done remarkable work in the propagation of religion as well as in education and medical services.

He said that even during natural disasters, the Shiromani Committee has always been at the forefront and has worked according to the principles bestowed by Guru Sahib.

He also appealed to the entire Sikh community to unite and make efforts for the strength of this great institution of theirs.

On this occasion, after the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib Ji, the Raagi Jatha of Hazuri Raagi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Bhai Satnam Singh performed Gurbani Kirtan and Ardas was performed by Bhai Prem Singh. The Sangat was made to listen to the holy Hukamnama by Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Giani Kewal Singh.

Giani Kewal Singh, while discussing with the congregation, said that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, a Sikh organization that came into existence with the sacrifices of our ancestors, has always played a leading role in social work.

He said that this Sikh organization has always served humanity without any discrimination and is continuously doing so.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee S. Pratap Singh said that there are many religions in the world but no religion has such a chosen religious institution as the Shiromani Committee. He said that it is the great need of the hour to give a befitting reply to the forces that are destroying the institution by making united efforts for the strength of this new religious institution of the Panth. He also congratulated all the devotees on the foundation day of the Shiromani Committee.

On this occasion, Granthi Singh Sahib of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Giani Baljit Singh, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee S. Pratap Singh, Additional Secretary, S. Bijay Singh, General Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib S. Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, Deputy Secretary S. Balwinder Singh Khairabad, Superintendent S. Nishan Singh, Additional Manager S. Satnam Singh Jhabal and S. Jasbir Singh along with all the staff were present.
