AMRITSAR: Dedicated to the 350th centenary of the martyrdom of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the cycle yatra, which started from Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib, Delhi under the leadership of former President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Manjit Singh GK, ended today at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal, the birthplace of the ninth Guru.
Upon reaching Amritsar, the yatra was given a grand welcome at the Golden Gate by the Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and Baba Kashmir Singh Karseva Bhuriwale, along with prominent personalities.
On this occasion, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that while celebrating the 350th martyrdom anniversary, the SGPC's aim was to convey this message to the country and the world that if Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji had not sacrificed his life, what would have been the state of politics, culture and religious freedom of the country?
Meanwhile, head Granthi Singh Sahib of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh said that these centenary days are an opportunity for the Sangat to connect with the history of Guru Sahib and to adopt the valuable teachings given by Guru Sahib in their lives. Meanwhile, Baba Kashmir Singh Karseva Bhuriwale also welcomed the cycle journey and appealed to understand the message of this initiative and said that it is the need of the hour to inculcate the teachings of Guru Sahib in life to save the polluted environment.
