CHANDIGARH: FEROZEPUR:Former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President and party Campaign Committee Chief Sunil Jakhar on Saturday paid homage to Shaheed-e-Aazam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Hussainiwala Memorial reiterating his vow to keep doing everything to maintain national integrity.
Jakhar also urged all Punjabis to shun and reject divisive communal forces bent to tarnish Punjab. Even one chance to those inimical forces whose agenda is to break the unity of our nation could be fatal, Jakhar cautioned adding that he was sure punjabis will once again vote for those who gave it their all to secure freedom, democacry and liberty for the countrymen.
Punjabis who have been at the forefront of ensuring India's prosperity would never support those who have jeopardised India's territorial integrity for cheap political gains.
Terming it as Sacrilege, Jakhar further said that one political leader has audaciously compared himself with Sardar Bhagat Singh Ji; and by doing so he has not only disrespected our iconic martyrs but have also brought bad name to the whole political class too.
Regretting the comparison, Jakhar said he was saddened by the low standards of that political party. On his behalf, the veteran Congressman sought forgiveness for this utterly shameless remark by that leader who he added has time and again been exposed for his sheer hypocrisy and doublespeak.
Terrorism is terrorism, and it can never be differentiated as good or bad, Jakhar said underlining the fact that Punjabis will never choose someone who does not know about our state's concerns and apprehensions. On the occasion, MLA Parminder Singh Pinky accompanied him.
