CHANDIGARH: SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and former akali minister Bikram Singh Majithia have come to the rescue of former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh after Punjab Home Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa raked up the issue of relations between Capt Amarinder Singh and alleged ISI agent Aroosa Alam.
Aroosa Alam had lived with Capt Amarinder Singh for over five years at his Siswan residence and previously in Sector 10 house where former CM lived before becoming the Chief Minister. She is a Pakistan national who was given long stay Indian Visa by Union Home Minister on the alleged recommendtion of former Union Minister and SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
Aroosa Alam reporteldy enjoyed confidence of Capt Amarinder Singh to an extent that she had started infereing in the day to day governance. The allegation were levelled that she was instrumental in appointment of former Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta and his wife Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan.
SAD president Sukhbir Badal today cursed Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa for raising the issue of Aroosa Alam. He said that when Sukhjinder Randhawa was in cabinet of Capt Amarinder Singh, he never raised the issue in public. Majithia also said that Capt Amarinder Singh was never targeted when he was Chief Minister. The SAD leaders didnt support the Randhawa's statement of probing the ISI connection of Aroosa Alam.
Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa who had quoted a video by a Pak journalist alleging ISI links of Aroosa Alam and said the isseu is very sensitive and shal be probed. Randhawa later clarified that it was for center government to probe the allegations and state cant investigate international issues. He however said that Capt Amarinder Singh was raising issue of terror threat by Pakistan but he himself was living with an ISI agent.
Capt Amarinder Singh also refuted the allegations of Randhawa and said that it was only issue Randhawa had found to raise. He said that Aroosa Alam was visiting India for the last 17 years.
