ZIRA (FEROZEPUR): The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today inducted the old Akali family of Harcharan Singh Hero, who later also served as Acting President of the Punjab Congress, into the SAD with the late leader’s son Harpreet Singh Hero. He is also made the Halqa Incharge of this constituency by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal at a massive political conference in Makhu.
The political conference at Makhu witnessed a tremendous turn out with thousands of supporters of the Hero family as well as Akali cadre expressing their faith in the party. The party president said S Harpreet Singh Hero, who is a prominent farmer leader and social activist, would be an asset to the party in the region and termed the Hero family’s comeback to the SAD as a homecoming.
