NAKODAR: Resentment prevails among sugarcane growers of Nakodar, Shahkot, and Phillaur subdivisions against non- clearance of dues of more than Rs 4 crores of 2019-2020 season by the Nakodar Cooperative Sugar Mill Limited. The affected farmers alleged that payments to cane growers were being delayed even after they mentioned that the mill would be responsible to clear the bills within six months of their issuance. The cane growers have visited the mill several times since November 2019 for getting the bills cleared but without success.
Neither the mill director nor the other officials were ready to address their problems, farmers alleged.
