PHAGWARA:Despite propagating of setting up about 13, 000 smart schools in Punjab Most of the government senior secondary
schools in the state are facing much more shortage of teachers. At present, more than 50 per cent of the posts of teacher in government
schools have been lying vacant.
This was revealed by a social activist Jarnail Nangal, who said Government schools” in Phagwara are facing much more staff crunch. In
the absence of proper infrastructure, they are failed to provide essential facilities to students.” He said, “The staff crunch in
government schools is the violation of human rights and child rights.
Nangal who led a delegation of the citizens to meet SDM Phagwara Shayari Malhotra told this correspondent after the meeting that after
visiting 12 Schools including Kanshi Nagar, Khangura, Nangal Majhan, Saprod, Nanak Nagri, Mehru and Hardaspur villages of Phagwara where
there was a shortage of teachers in every village they found all schools facing scarcity of the teachers, but the most surprising thing
was that Three blind teachers are teaching the students in Village Kanshi Nagar, Nangal Majhan and Saprod village primary schools.
Jarnail Nangal a senior leader of Lok Insaf Party told that and one of the two posts in village Khangura primary school is vacant, one of the
two posts in Mehru village pre-primary is vacant, political science in Mehru village middle school. , Punjabi, History subject teachers are
not only one post vacant in the primary school of village Hardaspur One of the two posts in the pre-primary is vacant and the posts of
Punjabi and drawing teacher in the middle school of Hardaspur are vacant 17 children in the pre-primary school of village Gandhama There
is no teacher of Punjabi and drawing in the middle school of this village. Apart from this Nangal informed that under a conspiracy the
posts of PT teachers in government schools have been abolished and even posts of clerks are lying vacants in several schools.
The works of clerks and peons are being taken from the headmasters of the schools at many places.
He threatened to launch state wide stir, if the shortage of teachers in government schools could not be meet soon .Inderjit Singh
