Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) Demands Dissolution Of SGPC And New Elections Should Be Announced: Iman Singh

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has decided to organise Sikh Panthic convention on November 28 if the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections were not announced.The venue of convention will be announced later.
This was stated by Mr Imaan Singh son of Mr Simranjit Singh Mann while addressing the rally which was held outside Guru Ram Dass Sarai here on Saturday .
Mr Imaan Singh Mann said that Parliament elections were held 18 times but SGPC elections were held only eight times since its formation. As per rule SGPC elections should be held after every five years.
Party Secretary Harbir Singh Sandhu while addressing the rally strongly condemned the disrespect of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib.

He also demanded that details of 328 Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib be made available to the Sangat.
Meanwhile, SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that it was the job of the Election Commission of India to hold elections every five years.

Talking to reporters, she was reacting to a rally organized by the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar).

She said there was no need to hold a rally, it should be held in front of the Election Commission office.

She appealed to political parties and Sikh organizations to refrain from holding rallies and dharnas around the Golden Temple.
