SGPC to celebrate Parkash Utsav of 4th Guru Sri Guru Ram Dass, founder of Amritsar on October 22

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has decided to celebrate birth anniversary of 4th Guru Sri Guru Ram Dass founder of Amritsar here on October 22.

This decision was taken at a meeting of SGPC and various Sikh religious organizations held in Bhai Gurdas Hall here today.

Senior Vice President of the Shiromani Committee Surjit Singh Bhitewad, said that nagar kirtan procession will be organise on October 21.

Sharing their views on the occasion, various representatives of the Sabha-societies gave suggestions regarding the ceremonies to be held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the fourth Guru and also assured all possible cooperation.

He said Gurmat Samagam will be held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib, Diwan Hall on October 22.

Simultaneously a series of Gurmat Samagams has been started from September 16 at various places in the city, which will continue till Gurpurab.

Prominent personalities on the occasion appealed to the representatives of Sabha societies to enlighten the entire city on the occasion of Prakash Purab and to motivate the sangat to participate in the functions.
