SGPC strongly condemned the attack on the returning Sangats from Takht Sri Patna Sahib

AMRITSAR: Mr Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has strongly condemned the attack on the returning pilgrims after celebrating gurpurb at Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib by some people in Bihar.

He said that it was unfortunate that the sangat was being stoned and lathicharged and the Bihar government should conduct an impartial inquiry.

The SGPC President said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who had done a great service on the centenary of the birth of the 10th Patshah Guru Gobind Singh Ji should come forward to bring justice to the victims of this incident.
Mr Dhami said that the SGPC would also liaise with the Bihar government in this regard.
Meanwhile, Advocate Dhami, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), also condemned the rape of a deaf and dumb girl in Rajasthan.

Mr Dhami said that gang rape of an innocent girl at Alwar was a disgrace on the forehead of humanity and its perpetrators should not be spared. He said that the SGPC has been in touch with the local Sikh leaders in this regard and would co-operate at all levels. The culprits should be arrested and severely punished, which set an example in itself.
