AMRIK SINGH | April 04, 2022 06:11 PM

AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), has expressed grave concern over the racially motivated attacks on Sikhs in the United States and called on the Gurdwara Committees and Sikh leaders to speak out against the practice.

Advocate Dhami said that yesterday a 75-year-old Sikh elder It is unfortunate that Nirmal Singh was attacked and injured by two unidentified persons at Richmond Hill, New York and the culprits should be dealt with severely.
He said that Sikh organizations in America should come forward to punish the perpetrators of this incident so that no one would dare to do so in future.

The SGPC President said that Punjabis and especially Sikhs have made a great contribution to the progress of America and Sikhs have great respect for the people of every community. Even in difficult times, Sikhs carry out public welfare services from Guru's house, but sadly, Sikhs who seek the welfare of all are subjected to hateful violence.
He said that the SGPC had written to the Government of India many times regarding racial attacks on Sikhs abroad and even in the General Sessions resolutions were being passed and sent to the Government. The Government of India should take up these issues with foreign governments and ensure the safety of Sikhs abroad.
