AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has strongly condemned the granting of 40-day parole once again to Dera Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving a sentence for serious crimes.
Advocate Dhami said that this generosity of the government towards a person who is serving a sentence for serious charges and is also guilty of anti-Sikh activities is not only surprising but also a mockery of democracy and the justice system.
He said that giving special concessions to individuals by the government is not only a mockery of the victims but also a question for the justice system.
Advocate Dhami said that if the governments continue this trend of giving relief to the culprits for political gains, then the people’s trust in the justice system will be eroded.
