AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami strongly condemned the incident of desecration inside the Gurdwara Sahib at Mansoorpur village in Jalandhar and demanded severe punishment from the Punjab government.
He also asked to investigate the forces behind this incident and bring it to light. He said that incidents of blasphemy are happening continuously in Punjab, but the governments are failing to stop them.
Advocate Dhami said that with today's incident once again the Sikhs as well as every serious person has been shocked, because no person can tolerate the disrespect of religious places.
He said that many times in such cases the accused are acquitted due to delay in investigation and punishment by the government, due to which the morale of the accused is increasing.
Advocate Dhami demanded that provision of strict punishments in cases of obscenities should be made mandatory and speedy court hearings should be ensured in such cases. The Shiromani Committee President also appealed to the Sangat to ensure proper monitoring and security in the Gurdwaras and to keep attendants present at the Gurdwaras at all times for guarding.
