Nagar Kirtan taken out from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib

AMRITSAR: On the occasion of the Parkash Purb of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, a Nagar Kirtan was organized from Sri Akal Takht Sahib to Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal, the birthplace of Guru Sahib.

In this, Additional Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Giani Amarjit Singh, Head Granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Malkit Singh, Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib, Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, officers of the Shiromani Committee and representatives of Sabha-Society, a large number of devotees participated and paid homage and respect to Guru Sahib. During the Nagar Kirtan, Gatka parties displayed the Sikh martial art and band parties enhanced the beauty of the Nagar Kirtan with beautiful melodies. On this occasion, Acting Chief Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Giani Amarjit Singh, congratulated the devotees on the Parkash Purb of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and said that the life of the ninth Guru and his martyrdom are an example for the protection of religion. He appealed to the Sangat to follow the path shown by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.

Giving information in this regard, the Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib, S. Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, said that on the occasion of the Parkash Gurpurab of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, a Gurmat Samagam will be organized at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal on April 7. In this regard, Sri Akhand Path Sahib will be performed at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal on April 7, 2026. After this, the Katha of Hukamnama will be recited and a Gurmat Samagam will be held, in which famous Raagi Jathas and scholars of the Panth will be present. On the occasion of Parkash Purab, beautiful decorations will also be decorated at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib.

The Nagar Kirtan, which started from Sri Akal Takht, passed through various markets and ended at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal. On this occasion, Sri Darbar Sahib Manager S. Satnam Singh Riar, S. Jaspal Singh Dhadde, Additional Manager S. Ilbal Singh Mukhti, S. Gurvinder Singh Devidaspur, S. Yuvraj Singh along with a large number of devotees were present.
