SGPC holds meeting with AI technology experts and scholars

AMRITSAR: A meeting was held today at the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) office under the leadership its President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami with technical experts working in this field to formulate a policy to prevent the sacrilege of Sikhism through misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. 

In the meeting, experts with knowledge of AI technology gave their valuable suggestions in view of future challenges and to prevent its misuse.

Giving information about the meeting, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the continuous increase in videos and other content on social media that hurt Sikh sentiments through Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a matter of great concern. In view of this, the SGPC had called today's meeting to take suggestions from experts working in this field, so that a concrete policy can be prepared to stop the misuse.

He said that valuable suggestions have been received in today's meeting, which will be discussed in the upcoming meeting of the Interim Committee.

He also specially thanked the AI experts who arrived at the invitation of the SGPC.

Partap Singh, Vice Chancellor of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Dr. Pritpal Singh, Principal of Khalsa College Patiala Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Dr. William Singh, Principal of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College S. Lakhvir Singh, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Ludhiana Dr. Jagdeep Singh and Prof. Satinderpal Singh, Director Principal Dr. Gurjit Singh from Rayat Bahara Institute, Hoshiarpur, Dr. Kuldeep Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Dr. Sarabjot Singh Anand from Delhi, Deputy Secretary of SGPC S. Harbhajan Singh Wakta, Advocate S. Amardeep Singh Dharni, Legal Advisor S. Amanbir Singh Siali, System Administrator S. Karamvir Singh etc. were present. Meanwhile, S. Gian Singh Sandhu from Canada, Dr. Harinder Singh from America and AI expert Dr. Sandeep Singh Sandha joined the gathering through online
