SGPC asks for passports from pilgrims going to Pakistan on the occasion of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has sought passports from Sikh pilgrims for the Jatha to be sent to Pakistan in June 2026 on the occasion of the death anniversary of Shere Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Interested pilgrims can submit their passports to the Travel Department at the head office of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee by March 31, 2026.

Giving information in this regard, Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan said that every year the Shiromani Committee sends a jatha of Sikh devotees to Pakistan to celebrate the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and this time this jatha will be sent to Pakistan in the month of June.

He said that devotees who wish to join the jatha can submit their passports along with the recommendation of the constituency member of the Shiromani Committee to the Shiromani Committee office by 31 March 2026.

He said that along with the passport, a copy of Aadhaar card or voter card should also be given as an identity proof. He said that devotees who want to go on a pilgrimage to Gurdwaras in Pakistan should submit their passports to the Shiromani Committee on time so that they can be sent to the government for further action.
