SGPC asked for passports from pilgrims going to Pakistan till March 25 on the occasion of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has demanded passports from the Sikh pilgrims for the jatha to be sent to Pakistan in June 2024 on the occasion of the death anniversary of Shere Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Interested pilgrims can submit their passports till 25th March 2024 at the Travel Department of SGPC.

Giving information in this regard, Secretary of the SGPC Pratap Singh said that the Shiromani Committee sends a jatha of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan every year to observe the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

He said that this time too, a batch of Sikh pilgrims will be sent to Pakistan in the month of June. Pilgrims wishing to join the Jatha should submit their passports at the Shiromani Committee office with the recommendation of the Constituent Member of the Shiromani Committee. A copy of Aadhaar card or voter card should also be given as an identity card along with the passport.
He said that pilgrims should submit their passports on time so that they can be sent to the government for further action.
