Rajya Sabha member Dr. Sahni gave a grant of Rs 2.51 crore for the maintenance of the road leading to Sri Darbar Sahib: DC

AMRITSAR: Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Sakshi Sahni to keep Heritage Street, the main route leading to Sri Darbar Sahib has ordered that the Municipal Corporation to provide free dustbins to the food shops operating on the said street so that cleanliness can be maintained there.

She said that Rajya Sabha member Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahni has given a grant of Rs. 2 crore 51 lakh from his discretionary quota for the maintenance of this road . He said that with this money, the work of painting the heritage street is going on, which will be completed by July 31. He said that the cost of this work has been more than 41 lakhs.

The Deputy Commissioner said that apart from this, two eight-seater golf carts have been purchased for the convenience of the pilgrims on this route , which will be put into operation soon. He also instructed the officials to purchase a sweeping machine for cleaning this route.
