PHAGWARA: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kapurthala, Gaurav Toora, visited village Ahli Kalan in the Mand area to review the situation arising out of the rising water level of the Beas river and to interact with local residents affected by the floods.
During his visit, the SSP held direct conversations with villagers to assess the ground realities and the problems faced by people due to the swelling river. He said that the Punjab Police is fully committed to extending all possible assistance to the residents of flood-affected areas.
Reviewing the relief and rehabilitation measures in the Mand region, SSP Toora directed the police officers and personnel deployed in the area to ensure timely help to the people in need. He emphasized that security arrangements in the villages must be further strengthened and regular patrolling should be carried out to maintain law and order during this challenging time.
DSP Hargurdev Singh and several villagers were present on the occasion as the SSP reassured the community of the police department’s support and cooperation in the days ahead.
