Punjab govt issues advertisement for recruitment of 6635 ETT teachers

PATIALA: Relentless efforts of Punjab Government, Patiala Police and District Administration, to bring down an unemployed ETT teacher , Surinder Pal, from the BSNL tower, bore fruit, today, when latter was persuaded to climb down safely.

Divulging details, the Deputy Commissioner, Kumar Amit said that after the number of meetings held between the unemployed ETT teachers and the state government, the former expressed its satisfaction over the notification to be issued regarding 6635 posts of ETT teachers. After the notification, today, an advertisement for the recruitment of the 6635 teachers, was also published in the papers. In continuation of these ongoing efforts, a meeting of District and Police Authorities including DC Kumar Amit, SSP Dr Sandeep Garg, SP (City) Varun Sharma, SDM Patiala Charanjit Singh and ETT Union held, today, at GO Mess to end the protest of Surinder Pal atop the tower. As per the demand of union, a few helping goods provided to them to bring him down.

MLA Rajpura, Hardial Singh Kamboj and Mayor Sanjeev Sharma offerd him liquid on his reaching safely at ground and arranged to rush him hospital.

Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit, SSP Dr Sandeep Garg, SP (City) Varun Sharma and SDM Charanjit Singh visited the Government Rajindra Hospital to know his well being. Medical Superintendent, Dr H S Rekhi breifed that after medical examination of Surinder Pal, he has been found medically fit and is being put on IV drip.

Deputy Commissioner further told that a final meeting between these ETT union leaders and School Education Minister, Vijay Inder Singla has been scheduled tomorrow, to brief the former about the efforts being made by the department for expediting the process of recruitment of teachers.
