PATIALA: Edequate arrangements have been made in all respects to make sure the availability of the required oxygen to the COVID patients in case of any emergency in Patiala district, " said Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala district. He was reviewing oxygen supply and stock in Patiala district today.
Earlier, Mr. Kumar Amit accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) and District Nodal Officer for Oxygen Supply, Dr. Preeti Yadav, PRTC AMD Nitash Singla, Zonal Drug Licensing Authority Navjot Kaur, GM District Industries Center Angad Singh Sohi visited the Jalan Cryogenics, the oxygen plant at Rajpura to monitor the oxygen supply. He also held a meeting with the MD of the company, S K Jalan and Rajiv Jalan, to review the stock and production of liquid medical oxygen at the plant.
Deputy Commissioner also made an appeal to the people of the district not to spread any rumors about oxygen shortage and not to believe any such misinformation about oxygen, as we have adequate stock and supply in the COVID wards of government and private hospitals including Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. There is production and stock of liquid medical oxygen required for the supply of oxygen to the patients.
Mr. Kumar Amit said that all the necessary arrangements for the availability of Oxygen, have already been made as per the directions given by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, for the best possible treatment of critically ill patients in the district. He further said that besides setting up a district control room to monitor the supply of oxygen in the district, teams have also been constituted to control the supply and inspect it regularly.
He said that in addition to the 24x7 Oxygen bank service 'Oxygen on Wheels' has also been launched to provide oxygen to the patients in any government or private hospital in case of emergency. A helpline 0175-2350550 has been set up for inquiries regarding COVID and another helpline number related to oxygen and beds availability has been set up at 62843-57500.
