Nagar Kirtan taken out from Akal Takht on the eve Guru Nanak Birth anniversary

AMRITSAR: A religious Nagar kirtan procession was taken out with great enthusiasm on the eve of 552nd birth anniversary of first Guru of Sikhs Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji here on Thursday.

The nagar kirtan which was started from Akal Takht after performing ardas was led by Panj Piaras (five beloved).

The religious procession after parading in the main bazaars of city including Bazar Mai seva , Bazar papran wala, Dhab Wasti Ram Chowk karori, Chowk Pragdass and it was ended at Akal Takht in the evening.
Several kirtani jathas, school children, gatka parties joined the procession.

The devotees were reciting the Gurbani shabads like "Satgur Nanak Pargat hoa mitti dhudh jag chanan ...." " Ho rahi hai tuhadi jai jai kaar, ".

The holy "bir" of Guru Granth Sahib was carried in flower decked planquine and flower pettles were showered on it.The Roads of city were washed by devotees.

Meanwhile the jaloo (an exhibition of ancient traditional Sikh jewellery will be held at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib on November 19.

PTC Simran channel will direct telecast the special Gurbani kirtan programme on November 19 from 9 to 12 noon.
