Nagar Kirtan decorated from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the occasion of 401st Prakash Purab of Tegh Bahadur Sahib

AMRITSAR: A religious Nagar kirtan was taken out on the eve of 401th birth anniversary of 9th Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur here on Wednesday.

The procession which started from Akal Takhat after performing ardas was led by five beloved and it was ended at Gurdwara Guru ka Mahal birth place of the Guru .

The holy "Bir" of Guru Granth Sahib was carried in flower decked palanquine.

Gatka parties performed Sikh martial arts and band parties graced Nagar Kirtan with beautiful melodies.

Several kirtani Jathas were reciting the Gurbani like Guru Tegh Bahadur simeriye Ghar nonidh aaave dhaye ....

.In Nagar Kirtan among others Shiromani Committee members Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna, Bhai Ram Singh, Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhayasi, Baba Satnam Singh Karseva Qila Anandgarh, Head Granthi Bhai Malkit Singh, Secretary Mahinder Singh Ahli, SlPartap Singh, OSD Satbir Singh Dhami, Deputy Secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Tejinder Singh Padda, Sukhbir Singh, Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib. Sulukhan Singh Bhangali, Manager Sukhraj Singh, Baghel Singh, Additional Manager Jagtar Singh, Satnam Singh Riyad, Mr. Iqbal Singh Chief, Honorary Secretary Gurmeet Singh, Superintendent Malkit Singh Bahirwal, Palwinder Singh Chitta also attended.
A large number of sangats, including Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Panthic personalities, members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, officials and representatives of Sabha societies, paid homage to Guru Sahib.

Meanwhile, the President of the SGPC Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami while congratulating the Sangat on the Prakash Purab of the Ninth Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, said that last year the 400th Prakash Purab of Guru Sahib Ji was celebrated and this time the centenary year was completed.

The Shiromani Committee is observing according to Panthic traditions. In this connection a grand Gurmat Samagam is being organized tomorrow (April 21) at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, which will be attended by Singh Sahibs, Sant Mahapurash, Nihang Singh organizations and representatives of Sabha societies and a large number of prominent personalities.

He appealed to the sangat to attend the function. The SGPC President said that the life of Ninth Patshah and his martyrdom was an example for the protection of religion and governments should take inspiration from this and enact a law which would curb anyone's attack on religious freedom and religious symbols. Strict punishments could be meted out to those guilty of indecency.
Mr per the programs drawn up by the Shiromani Committee on the occasion of the 400th birth centenary of the ninth Patshah Ji, a special bus carrying Guru Sahib's armor outside the Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall remained the center of attraction for the Sangat.

Meanwhile bus is adorned with weapons and other symbols belonging to the Ninth and Tenth Patshahs, which were visited by a large number of devotees.

It is to be mentioned that this bus has been specially brought here from Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Sri Anandpur Sahib.
