Mock drill conducted by district administration in collaboration with NDRF-SDM

AMRITSAR: Today NDRF in collaboration with NDRF at Khanna Paper Mill on how to prevent any gas leak in the district and how to save the lives of the workers. Mock drilled with. Apart from the district administration officers, fire brigade, police administration, health department etc. took part in this mock drill.

Giving more details in this regard SDM-2 Mr. Rajesh Sharma said that this opportunity has been drilled by the district administration to prevent any untoward incident in the district.

He said that the main objective of this mock drill was to save the lives of the workers working in the factory and to prevent any incident of gas leakage. He said that the mock drill was first conducted to find out what kind of equipment is available in the factory to prevent gas leakage and what other means the factory has to save the lives of the workers.
He said that in case of any untoward incident, the administration first informs the fire brigade and police and also a relief camp is set up at a nearby school. He said that in this relief camp full medical aid and food was also provided to the injured workers.
On the occasion Assistant Commandant of 7 NDRF Mr. DL Jakhar informed that 30 NDRF jawans have participated in this mock drill and all these jawans have to deal with any incident. Are fully capable of He said that our battalion was stationed at Ludhiana and would reach within 2 hours as soon as the information was received to prevent any untoward incident in Amritsar district and would start the rescue operation.
Mr. Sarabjit Singh Bajwa ADCP, Mr. Ishu Sangar Deputy Director Factories, Mr. Manav Preet Singh General Manager Industries, Mr. Tejinder Singh Raja Executive Secretary Red Cross besides officials of various departments were also present on the occasion.
