GURDASPUR:A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Rahul Additional Deputy Commissioner at the local Panchayat Bhawan with the officers of all the departments to mark the Independence Day.
During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that the Independence Day function would be held on August 15 at Gurdaspur.
Shaheed Navdeep Singh (Ashok Chakra) will be celebrated at the Sports Stadium. The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the officials of PWD Department and Municipal Council Gurdaspur to clean the sports stadium. He asked the Punjab Police to make security arrangements as well as prepare for the parade.
He directed the various departments including Health Department, Public Health, Powercom, Mandi Board, District Program Officer, Health, Horticulture to make preparations.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner asked all the officers to ensure that the instructions issued by the Health Department during the function were followed and to ensure that the responsibilities assigned to all the departments were followed within the stipulated time. He asked the officers of the departments to prepare the identity cards for their staff by August 6 (Office of the District Revenue Officer) and if any employee has achieved anything other than his duty, he should be honored by the head of the department. The office should be handed over to the Deputy Commissioner, MA Branch by August 5.
